Teenager raped in town centre lane

A teenager was raped in a lane in Paisley town centre, police have said.

The 18-year-old woman was with a man in the grass area at Meetinghouse Lane on Thursday between 7pm and 7:50pm, during which time the attack took place.

Detective Inspector David Wagstaff said his officers were keen to speak to two women in their twenties who were seen talking to each other outside the entrance to the walled area at around 7:40pm. He urged them to contact police immediately.
