- GARY HEATLY

By Carlton and Heriot’s both had double success last weekend – and now they are meeting in the CSL Eastern Premiership this afternoon.

Seven days ago Carlton defeated Aberdeenshire in the league and then followed it up 24 hours later with a Citylets Scottish Cup victory at holders Clydesdale.

Heriots, who sit third in the top flight table after a good first month, edged out Glenrothes seven days ago and won in the Cup at West of Scotland on Sunday thanks to a great last wicket stand of 41 between Michael Shean and Duncan Hamilton.

The Goldenacre men also beat Stuart&stuart Penicuik in the Murgitroyd Masterton Trophy on Thursday evening, so make the short trip to Grange Loan in fine fettle.

Carlton skipper Ali Evans has been able to name an unchanged side while Heriot’s have Michael Shean unavailable. Steve Knox replaces him, while James Hearn and Richard Cummine also come into the XI.

Leaders Arbroath are at home to Watsonians and they have Blair Carnegie coming in for Jack Waller, who has work commitments. Watsonians havetomcullen, lewisdingle, Mike Carson and Dewald Nel coming into the side.

Mazars Grange, like Arbroath, are unbeaten and they are making the short trip to SMRH on the back of the news that skipper Preston Mommsen has been recalled by Scotland.

Having been promoted, SMRH will be happy with their return of two league wins to date. Today at Inverleith, Steven Parker will be leading the side with usual skipper Greg Ruthven unavailable.

Hayden Mourits and Matthew Angelini are also away so Andrew Tetley, Ralph Giraudeaux and Josh Tigne come into the side.

Glenrothes are in fourth place and they welcome Tayside Group Forfarshire to Gilvenbank.

The home side have Vasu Reddy and Jamie Penman coming into the XI for Fred Culley and Scott Lucas.

Kye Leggett is in for Forfarshire.

Bottom club Falkland travel to Aberdeenshire with talented 14-year-old all-rounder Lyle Robertson coming into the side.

William Anderson, Grant Jamieson and Ahklaq Bashir are in for the home side.
