Judge in Bill Cosby trial warns jury
The judge in Bill Cosby’s sexual assault trial has opened proceedings by warning the jury not to read news updates about the case on their phones.
The 79-year-old is accused of giving university employee Andrea Constand drugs and then sexually assaulting her in 2004, in the only criminal case to emerge from dozens of allegations lodged against the actor.
The jury for the trial, which began yesterday in Norristown, Philadelphia, is sequestered at a nearby hotel for the duration of the two-week case.
