Flyer by night

-

I had not realised that the process of distributing election leaflets had changed.

One recent morning, my neighbour and I were chatting in our gardens while watching a man visiting each house with a leaflet – I don’t know which party he represented. As he neared our houses he took a long look at us… and passed us by. Was he a mindreader or just fed up with the arduous task? No wonder elections cost so much, what is the point of leaflet distribution if not intended for all voters? Was this stranger a voyeur, a political spy or just a lazybones?

Has anyone else had this experience? MRS M MCNAUGHTON Ashley Drive, Edinburgh

We were surprised to receive an election leaflet through the letterbox last week from Miles Briggs, who states he is “Ruth Davidson’s candidate” in our constituency.

Are they starting a new party or just a little shy about saying they are Conservative candidates in bold writing? Or is this all part of the ego trips May, Davidson and now Briggs have embarked on rather than telling us what they are planning for us for Brexit and the next five years of government?
