Heavy rain sparks flood warnings

Flood warnings were yesterday issued for many parts of Scotland following heavy rain.

The Met Office issued a warning for the East Lothian, Edinburgh and Midlothian Council areas.

A warning was also issued for many parts of Southern Scotland and the Borders.

The warning from the Met Office warned localised flooding would be likely along with disruption on some roads and difficult driving conditions.

Severe flooding to homes and businesses has been predicted in the north.
