Mother-of-three Shaheen Akhtar has finally become a millionaire after carrying a winning National Lottery ticket around in her handbag for three weeks.

The 31-year-old from Dundee is planning a holiday to Dubai after finding the ticket she bought at a newsagents on 12 April.

She said: “I never used to believe I would win but one day I was walking past a shop and saw an advert for a big jackpot.

“I’ve always wanted to go to Dubai, but it was too expensive before.”
