Motherwell sign Carson

Goalkeeper Trevor Carson became Stephen Robinson’s fourth Motherwell signing yesterday with more set to follow in the coming days.

Motherwell are close to a deal for another midfielder to add to the earlier captures of Gael Bigirimana, Alex Fisher and Craig Tanner, while goalkeeper Russell Griffiths could re-sign following the end of his loan spell from Everton.

Robinson insists there has been no firm approach for top goalscorer Louis Moult or defender Ben Heneghan, who were both linked with Rangers, and he is keen to offer the striker a new contract.
