Incredible journey: School project brought to life as traditional caravan pays a visit
Casian Covaciu admires a traditional gypsy caravan brought to the grounds of Annette Street Primary School in Glasgow by Glasgow Museums.
Govanhill has a number of Roma families and Annette Street Primary School sits in the heart of the community. Of 210 children on its roll, 178 are fromeitheraromanianorslovakian Roma background and more than 80 per cent of the pupils have English as an additional language. The youngsters will be allowed to climb aboard, explore and ask questions to celebrate the culmination of a whole school topic on journeys and travelling.
