Scottish divers James Heatly and Grace Reid have both been named in the Great Britain team for the World Championships in Budapest in July.

It will be the first time the Edinburgh Diving Club duo have competed at the event and they are part of a 12-strong team that includes Olympic medallists Jack Laugher, Chris Mears, Tom Daley and Dan Goodfellow.

Heatly, 20, looks set to compete in the 1m individual event while Reid, 21, pictured, will be looking to compete in three events as she does the 3m individual, the 3m synchro with Katherine Torrance and the 3m mixed synchro with Daley.

Both Scots are also off to the European Championships in Kiev, Ukraine, next week. Great Britain’s national performance director Alexei Evangulov said: “I believe we have selected the strongest team we have for the World Championships and we are all looking forward to it.”

The World Championships in the Hungarian capital begin on 14 July.
