New Tory MPS set to quit Holyrood
The general election result will mean a shake-up at Holyrood with two Tory MSPS having been elected to Westminster and now poised to give up their seats in Edinburgh.
Douglas Ross, who won in Moray, is now to stand down as a Highlands and Islands list MSP. The next Tory candidate on the list for the region last year, who would normally be expected to take up the seat, was Jamie Halcro-johnston.
Ross Thomson is also to give up his seat in the Scot- tish Parliament as a North East region MSP after winning the Aberdeen South seat for the party. The next candidate on the North East list for the Tories was Nicola Ross. She also stood as a candidate for the party in the Dundee West constituency last year but finished third.
