St Mirren manager Jack Ross continued to build his squad for next season with 24-year -old striker Gavin Reilly coming on board from Hearts and fans’ favourite Stelios Demetriou completing the paperwork on a new contract for next season

Reilly started his career at Queen of the South, where Saints assistant manager James Fowler was his boss, before moving to Tynecastle in 2015 on a three-year contract with that deal cut short to allow Reilly to move west.

The frontman has scored five times for the Edinburgh side and he also found the net twice last season for Dunfermline on loan with assistant manager James Fowler saying: “We are delighted to get Gavin on board. I worked with him at Queen’s and the manager worked with him at Hearts, so we know what we are getting.”

“It is a good move for Gavin as well as he has a terrific platform here to build on.”

Cyprus-born Demetriou starred at the Paisley club in the second half of last season after joining the Saints from Doxa Katokopias with the 26year-old featured in 15 games and scoring goals against Hibs and Morton.

Fowler said: “Stelios was a great find in January and did really well for us as we battled our way out of relegation trouble. Our supporters have taken to him and everyone is looking forward to getting the paperwork sorted on his deal.”

Meanwhile, former Rangers, Partick Thistle and Dunfermline defender Andy Dowie has joined Dumbarton on a oneyear deal.

The experienced 34-year-old was released by Queen of the South last month.
