Ex-lecturer denies throwing brick at horse

A RETIRED university lecturer faces trial accused of throwing a brick at a horse.

Dr David Farley, 61, is alleged to have thrown the brick which hit the horse, making it bolt and causing its rider to fall off.

Farley, who used to work at the University of Stirling, is also accused of shouting, swearing and acting aggressive­ly.

The incident is said to have taken place in The Square, in the village of Ashfield, near Dunblane, Perthshire, on 5 February.

Farley yesterday denied the charges Stirling Sheriff Court. He was ordered to reappear in July.
