Pair might hold clues to teenage rape inquiry

Two women are being urged to come forward by police investigat­ing the rape of a teenager.

An 18-year-old woman was attacked by a man she had arranged to meet in Paisley town centre between 7pm and 7:50pm on Thursday, 1 June.

The incident occurred in the wooded area at Meetinghou­se Lane.

Detectives are keen to speak to two women who were seen talking to each other outside the entrance to the walled area at about 7:40pm. The pair walked through the town and were seen near Paisley Gilmour Street at 7:45pm.
