IRA victims seek SNP government action
Campaigners fighting for justice for three Scottish soldiers murdered by the IRA have hit out at the Scottish Government claiming ministers were not doing enough to get information about the killings.
Campaigners representing the families of Fusiliers Dougaldmccaughey, johnmccaig and Joseph Mccaig will today meet with the Scottish Conservatives in the hope of drawing attention to their plight.
The three men were murdered in 1971 in one of the most brutal murders of the Troubles.
A letter written by campaigners to veterans minister Keith Brown expresses “disappointment” at the lack of “direct action”.
The Scottish Government said Mr Brown had offered to raise the campaigners’ case with the UK government, the Irish government and, once devolution is restored, the Northern Ireland Executive.
