Chocks away: Grass painted plane at National Museum of Flight ready for take off
Robert Brand, six, from East Lothian, admires a life-size grass painting of the National Museum of Flight’s 1945 Supermarine Spitfire LF.XVIE, commissioned to mark the 20th anniversary of Scotland’s National Airshow at the East Fortune attraction on 22 July.
The painting was created by Edinburgh College of Art student, Jessica Gasson.
A Spitfire plane will take to the air as part of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight during the event, which also features the Red Arrows and an RAF Typhoon. The Breitling Wingwalkers, the world’s only aerobatic formation wing walking team, will also appear.
