Help the teachers

-

An Educational Institute of Scotland union survey has revealed that Scotland’s teachers are being pushed to ‘’breaking point’’ as staff cuts, classroomcurriculumchangesand exam system overhauls take their toll (Teachers at ‘breaking point’ over workload hike, The Scotsman, 14 June).

How highly do we value our educational system and those involved in it? To what depths does it have to crumble before we realise we have betrayed our children?

Do our teachers really have to resort to the only weapon they have and withdraw their labour – and so run the gauntlet of public wrath?
