Biker killed after collision with pick-up named

A biker who died after a crash with a pick-up truck in Shetland has been named.

Robert Gidney, 60, of Sandness, died as a result of the collision at East Burrafirth, near Aith, at about 5pm on Monday.

It involved a red Honda CBF 125 motorcycle and a black Mitsubishi Trojan.

Mr Gidney was taken to Gilbert Bain Hospital in Lerwick for treatment but died from his injuries on Tuesday.
