Brechin bid for free agent Dillon

- By CRAIG P STEWART

Brechin City are keen to sign former Dundee United captain Sean Dillon following his release from Tannadice.

Dillon, 33, was let go after ten years of service just a few weeks after his testimonial match.

However, he is in discussions with United about a coaching role within their Youth Programme. If the Dublin-born defender lands the job he would be free to return to playing and Brechin are keen to have his experience on board as they will face United and a host of other full-time sides in the Championship next season.

But fellow Angus sides Montrose and Forfar are also keen to to bring Dillon on board, with Peterhead also waiting in the wings to talk to the former Republic of Ireland under-21 internationalist.
