New Jaguar XF Sportbrake breaks cover

-

Jaguar has taken the wraps of its all-new XF Sportbrake.

Promising to offer “grace, pace and space”, the estate version builds on the secondgeneration XF saloon, adding a 565-litre boot and a host of driver convenience technology to the mix.

With the rear seats down the boot capacity expands to 1,700 litres.

Adding to the practical side of things are standard self-levelling rear air suspension and a towing capacity of two tonnes.

Despite matching the brief of being a big practical estate car, Jaguar say that the Sportbrake’s chassis and suspension have been specifically tuned to ensure it maintains a sports car-inspired character with agile handling.

The XF Sportbrake shares the rest of the XF range’s engine line-up. Depending on trim level there are 161bhp, 176bhp or 238bhp tunes of the four-cylinder Ingenium diesel, a 296bhp 3.0-litre V6 diesel or a 2.0-litre petrol with 247bhp.

Most models are rearwheel-drive but all-wheeldrive is an option on the 178bhp diesel and standard fit on the V6.

Inside, the XF Sportbrake gets all the luxuries found in the saloon car, including the latest version of Jaguar’s Touch and Incontrol media and connectivity systems, advanced driver assistance technology such as adaptive cruise control with queue assist, park assist, autonomous emergency braking and even drowsiness detection.

New and unique to the estate version is a panoramic sunroof with a gesture-controlled blind that opens and closes at the wave of a hand. The Sportbrake also gets a cabin air filtration system and the wearable, waterproof Activity Key, which allows sporty types to secure the car with the main key inside it.

Prices start at £34,910 and order books are open now.
