Woman dies after being hit by lorry

An 81-year-old woman who was knocked down by an articulated lorry in Aberdeen has died in hospital, police have confirmed.

Officers said that the incident happened on Wellington Road – one of the busiest roads in the city – at around 10.10am last Monday.

The woman has been named as Helen Livingstone, of the Altens area.

Police kept the road closed for several hours as they carried out investigations after the incident.
