BA cabin crew plan strike amid pay row
British Airways cabin crew are to stage a two-week strike in a long-running dispute over pay and travel concessions.
Members of Unite in the so-called mixed fleet will walk out from 12:01am on 1 July, to 11:59pm on 16 July. The union also announced it would “vigorously” pursue legal action on behalf of 1,400 cabin crew who say they were “sanctioned” for taking previous strike action.
A BA spokesman said: “As for previous periods when Unite called strikes of mixed fleet cabin crew, we will fly all our customers to their destinations.
“This proposed strike action is extreme and completely unnecessary. We had reached a deal on pay, which Unite agreed was acceptable.” He added: “We urge Unite to let its members vote on the pay proposals.”
