BHP Billiton unveils chairman

Mining giant BHP Billiton has appointed Ken Mackenzie, a former director of Australian packaging firm Amcor, as chairman.

Mackenzie, who is likely to face calls from activist investor Elliott Associates to shake up BHP’S board, said: “I look forward to engaging with shareholders and other stakeholders to understand their perspectives.”
