Poor report card

-

As we reach the end of another school year it is time for the report card for the Holyrood Parliament school.

The year has been disappointing in the school ethos of thinking, action and outreach to help in the wider community.

The head girl has largely been surrounded by her best friends and those in the school who would normally be classed as unexceptional pupils. Rather than better themselves they have chosen to follow in her wake to the detriment of their own education.

The debates in the school have been marred by arrogance

and endless clapping and cheering at the least salient point. The actual debates are not of very high standard as the outcome is known before the event. This leads to lack of interest.

We as staff have also to accept some responsibility. The head teacher admits to failing to control the children in the hall. This leads to permanent bad

behaviour. Shouting will have to be clamped down on as we need to teach respect and tolerance.

We hope that the next school year will show improvements. All children must take the holiday period to reflect on the reasons they have been sent to Holyrood and the ethos of the school.

They are in an extremesensus

ly privileged position. Their parents are spending vast amounts of money to keep them in school and expect them to do better.
