Three charged after reported hare-coursing
Police have charged three men with hare-coursing near Elgin.
The three men, aged 16, 20 and 35, were charged after an incident at Wester Calcots on Friday. A Vauxhall Astra was also seized.
The men, from the Lhanbryde and Spean Bridge areas, were set to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court yesterday.
Hare-coursing, using large dogs to hunt down hares, is illegal in Scotland.
Police Scotland’s North East Division is currently running a division-wide initiativenamedoperation Black Fall to crack down on the practice.
