Residents warned over bogus workmen

Police in Inverness are urging residents to be on their guard against bogus workmen who arrive unannounced at their door.

Recently, men have been targeting homes in the Mason Road area of the city. Two elderly victims have parted with four figures sums of cash after the men offered to carry out roof repairs, which was never done.

Police said the elderly and more vulnerable residents were often targeted.
