Police ‘positive’ in search for missing patient

Police searching for a man who absconded from a mental health facility have said they are following positive lines of inquiry.

Abdelnabi Alainani, 30, went missing from Midpark Hospital in Dumfries on Tuesday afternoon, sparking a large-scale search.

Officers said they are now looking into reports that a man was seen climbing out of a lorry and running off after it arrived in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire.

The missing patient is described as being of Asian appearance, with short dark curly hair, about 5ft 7in and of skinny build.
