#BREXIT A year on from the referendum on the UK’S membership of the European Union, opinions remain sharply divided on whether the UK can secure a favourable deal, the potential economic impact Brexit will have, and the rights of EU citizens living in the UK and Britons on the Continent.

@Angusrobertson said: “One year on from 62% referendum result in Scotland to remain in the European Union. Democratic deficit doesn’t begin to cover it”

@petertimmins3 offered: “Again and again it comes back to the same point, the #brexit negotiations are about ensuring there”s no change, so why bother. Really, why?”

@robmanuel commented: “I’m celebrating Brexit anniversary by making myself poorer and telling the French to bog off because a newspaper told me to. What about you?”

@tom_jenkins123 said: “You called us racist, you called us uneducated. But a year ago we defied you and voted leave. The people won”

@Jamesmelville added: “Never has so much division and bad decision making been caused by a lie that was written on the side of a bus”

#HUGHGRANT Hugh Grant has offered a £1,000 reward for the return of a blind WW2 veteran”s medals which went missing at a motorway service station.

@Hackedoffhugh said: “Thanks to other chipper inners – £5,000 for those medals. Must be out there somewhere”

@DSR_F11 commented: “If I found them, I’d hand them back without reward. They were earned by this man and belong to this man. I hope he gets them back”

@Jamiesonhodgson

added: “I’ll happily match @Hackedoffhugh reward money. This man gave so much to this country, whatever the circumstances, he must have them back!”

@Squarealbert

commented: “Nice gesture from Hugh Grant re stolen #medals reward – but what view will police take of anonymity for perpetrator?”

#SHORTS

Boys in Exeter who wore skirts to school in a protest have won the right to wear shorts to lessons from next year.

@Dianesmithg said: “The boys look great in their skirts. Why can’t the girls wear trousers in winter & the boys shorts in summer? When did it get this stupid?”
