Green light for massive homes plan in Elgin

-

Plans to build hundreds of homes in Elgin have been given the green light.

The Springfield Properties proposals in the south of the Moray town includes 870 houses and facilities such as a sports centre.

Moray Council has described the application as one of the biggest ever to come before the local authority.

Among the objections are claims that the houses would flood the market and pull housing demand away from other areas.

However, planning officers said they considered that the plan was an acceptable one.
