Two rescued from fishing boat in difficulty

Two men were rescued after a fishing boat encountere­d difficulti­es in the North Sea yesterday.

The fishermen called out coastguard­s when they were about half a mile off the coast of Stonehaven in Aberdeensh­ire.

Two RNLI crews were scrambled to the scene to take them back to dry land.

An Aberdeen Coastguard spokeswoma­n said the emergency services were contacted at about 8:06am and reached the two men quickly.

She said: “The Stonehaven and Montrose lifeboats attended along with two coastguard teams.”
