A property developer is looking to upgrade further sites around Scotland after investing £10 million in two historic landmarks.

FM Group, which has offices in Edinburgh and Dunfermline, has been working on 19th century Ury House in Aberdeenshire, which has been extensively restored and is set to become a luxury boutique hotel and spa.

The firm, formed in 1997, also said Dalnair Castle on the edge of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park is being “sympathetically” transformed into an exclusive residential development of ten luxury apartments.

The developer has also recently lodged planning applications, including the upgrade of heritage buildings on the former Sunnyside Royal Hospital site in Montrose and the Grade-b listed Cathcart House, formerly the HQ of Scottish Power, in Glasgow.

FM Group director Jonathon Milne said: “As a family-run Scottish business, we care deeply about our country’s heritage and this is reflected in many of our developments.”
