Anti-terror barriers for Wimbledon spectators
Protective barriers similar to those installed on Westminster Bridge will be placed along the route into Wimbledon after the recent terrorist attacks.
Superintendent Jo Edwards said the barriers, which have been in place previously, were to mitigate any possible attacks as people make their way to and from the venue.
“We have taken into account the threat level and those awful terrorist attacks that have taken place, and as a result, we have put together a proportionate policing plan with a significant number of resources to support the club to deliver a really safe secure competition this year,” she said.
