Tributes paid after councillor’s death at 59
Tributes have been paid to long-serving Glasgow councillor Alistair Watson, who has died suddenly.
The Labour politician, who was 59, entered local government in 1995 after a career as a train driver.
He had been part of trade union Aslef and chaired a number of transportrelated committees during his time as a councillor, but was most recently business manager for the former Labour administration.
Mr Watson died at his home in Cardonald on Wednesday night. He had two children and a granddaughter.
