Aston Martin reveals V8 DB11

-

Sports car manufacturer Aston Martin has revealed a new V8-engined version of its DB11 GT car.

The 4.0-litre V8 engine has been sourced from Mercedes-amg but Aston Martin insist they have been able to tailor the powerplant to their needs.

In the DB11, the engine produces 503bhp and 498lb/ft of torque, propelling the car from 0-62mph in just four seconds and on to a top speed of 187mph.

Despite this performance, Aston Martin say the V8 DB11 will return almost 29mpg and emits just 230g/km of CO2. The V8 model has received revisions to suspension bushing, geometry, anti-roll bars, springs, dampers and ESP software to give it a more sporting bias than the V12-powered version.

External changes include a unique alloy wheel finish, dark headlamp bezels and two bonnet vents instead of the V12’s four.

Inside, customers get the same standard equipment and options list as the V12.

The new car is on sale now priced from £144,900, with deliveries expected to begin before the end of the year.
