Capital firm Coulters celebrates record year

- By SCOTT REID

Coulters, the Edinburghbased solicitor-estate agency, is cheering a “record year of business” in the wake of its merger with HBJ Property.

The firm reported a 30 per cent profit on turnover, saying that exceeded the industry average, and confirmed that it was set to open its first legal and administration hub, in August, within Edinburgh Park.

Currently being fitted out to provide 20 desks, a board- room, client waiting area and staff break-out space, the new Lochside Way office will bring the firm’s admin and solicitor function under one roof.

Mark Coulter, chief executive, said: “We have achieved really strong results, despite operating in a market which has seen a significant shortage of properties.”

Coulters was founded by Coulter in 2013 and currently has two offices in Edinburgh. In May 2016, the firm tied up with HBJ Property, part of HBJ Gateley, now merged with Addleshaw Goddard.
