Scots DJ Harris chases Sheeran for No 1 spot

- By CONOR RIORDAN

Ed Sheeran could be knocked off the top of the album charts by Calvin Harris this week, according to the Official Charts Company.

Singer-songwriter Sheeran, who last week returned to the chart summit with his third album Divide, is just 650 sales above his nearest rival at the half-way stage of the week.

Scottish DJ Harris released his fifth studio album, Funk Wav Bounces Vol 1, on Friday, and it is leading the way in terms of downloads. But singing guitarist Sheeran is out in front on physical format sales and streaming.

If Harris does reach number one this week, it will give him his third chart-topping album, following Ready For The Weekend in 2009 and 18 Months in 2012.

US rockers Stone Sour could score their highest chart position with their album Hydrograd as they are currently at number three.
