Forster ends seven-year spell at Hibs

-

Jordon Forster is delighted to have signed a two-year contract at Cheltenham Town after being told he would be a bit-part player at Hibs, ending a seven-year stint at Easter Road.

Forster made 23 appearances for Hibs in their Championship title-winning campaign but the permanent arrival of Efe Ambrose from Celtic has pushed him further down the pecking order.

Forster, 23, who spent the second half of the 2015-16 campaign on loan at Plymouth, said: “It became clear that my game time at Hibernian might be limited, so when I heard Cheltenham Town were interested I was very happy to speak to manager Gary Johnson and I liked what I heard. He told me about his plans for the season and his philosophy.

“I also spoke to Liam Fontaine, who I know from Hibs. He played for the manager at Bristol City. I played about 16 or 17 games for Plymouth last season so I know what to expect in League Two and it’s a case now of getting a good pre-season done.”
