Lost peacock found wandering at substation

A peacock has been rescued after it was found roaming around an electricity substation.

A member of the public alerted the Scottish SPCA after spotting the bird in Lanark. It had been seen wandering around Colburn Substation over a two-week period.

The peacock was rescued on 27 June and taken to the Lanarkshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre where staff have nicknamed him Sparky.

Animal rescue officer Stephanie Bain said: “We’re sure he would like to be reunited with his owners.”
