Edinburgh’s Frontier IP takes stake in spin-out

- By SCOTT REID

Frontier IP, the Edinburghbased firm that specialises in the commercialisation of intellectual property, has taken a stake in a spin-out company from Plymouth University.

Molendotech, which Frontier has taken a 20 per cent holding in, has developed a rapid assay to screen water for faecal contamination.

A patent has been filed in relation to the technology which has already been granted in the US for recreational waters. The technology is said to have attracted early interest from industry.

Neil Crabb, chief executive of Frontier IP, said: “We believe that Molendotech has an exciting future in the critical area of water quality assurance.”
