Last-ditch deal raises hope for racecourse

The British Horseracing Authority has extended a deadline for Musselburgh Racecourse to stage its next meeting on 14 July.

The Musselburgh Joint Racing Committee had been given until 5pm yesterday to agree to a governance review which would have allowed next Friday’s evening card to take place.

Horseracing’s ruling body said that deadline has been extended until noon today.
