Johnson travels to Gulf for crisis talks
Boris Johnson has travelled to the Gulf to support efforts to resolve the diplomatic crisis over the isolation of Qatar.
The Foreign Secretary was in Saudi Arabia for the first in a series of meetings with representatives of Gulf states. Mr Johnson said the UK was supporting Kuwait’s efforts to broker a solution to the row which has seen Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Bahrain cut ties with Qatar. The Foreign Secretary said: “These talks underline the UK’S strong support for Kuwait’s mediation efforts.”
