Pair of whoppers

There are lies, damned lies, and statistics, to quote the old saying, with Brian Wilson (Perspective, 7July) giving us two whoppers from history. The SNP oil at $113 a barrel from the Independence referendum, and Boris Johnson’s £350million a week from the EU referendum. At least the Boris figure has a semblance of accuracy, in that it was the gross figure, and not the net sum, after refunds are taken into consideration. The really wild sum was the SNP one, as
