Three receive bravery awards after rescue

Three people have been presented with bravery awards after they rescued a man from a harbour.

Ryan Leith, a port controller with Lerwick Port Authority, jumped into Lerwick Harbour to help the man during the incident which happened at around 11:30pm on 24 November last year.

Local musician Maurice Henderson and Police Scotland temporary sergeant Victoria Duthie were also involved. Mr Leith received the Royal Humane Society’s Testimonia­l on Vellum. The other two received Certificat­es of Commendati­on.
