Three receive bravery awards after rescue
Three people have been presented with bravery awards after they rescued a man from a harbour.
Ryan Leith, a port controller with Lerwick Port Authority, jumped into Lerwick Harbour to help the man during the incident which happened at around 11:30pm on 24 November last year.
Local musician Maurice Henderson and Police Scotland temporary sergeant Victoria Duthie were also involved. Mr Leith received the Royal Humane Society’s Testimonial on Vellum. The other two received Certificates of Commendation.
