Muscika can handle weight rise

- By GLENDALE

Muscika can confirm he is a young sprinter on the upgrade by following up a win at Ayr a month ago in the racinguk. com/hd Handicap back at the course today.

The three-year-old gelding looks well capable of coping with a 5lb rise in the ratings for his three-quarters of a length verdict over the battle-hardened Tatlisu on what was only his fifth start. He could well prove another shrewd buy for the David O’meara team as he was purchased for just 24,000 guineas out of the Richard Hannon stable at Tattersalls Autumn Sales in October.

Mable Lee is fancied to make her experience count in the Racing UK Now In HD! EBF Novice Stakes. Trained by Iain Jardine, the Zoffany filly came forward nicely from her debut effort to find just Ellthea too good at Carlisle last month.

The winner there might easily go on to better things in time and with two runs under her belt now, the Jardine runner should know what the game is all about. She also looks likely to be suited by this first try at six furlongs.

There is every chance of a Jardine double with Yes You holding claims in division two of the Racing UK Apprentice Handicap. The three-year-old had her first start since switching yards – and first run anywhere for almost a year – at Doncaster recently and put in a pleasing effort in second.
