Neil ‘delighted’ with effort in Prague event
Bradley Neil was “delighted” after finishing in a tie for second in the Prague Golf Challenge – his best performance as a professional.
The 21-year-old from Blairgowrie underlined his growing confidence in the paid rankings by closing with a 68 – his fourth straight sub-70 round – for a 19-under-par total at Prague City Golf.
The effort earned Neil, who finished five shots behind Garrick Porteous as the Englishman claimed his maiden win on the circuit, a £12,700 pay-day.
Porteous, who preceded Neil as Amateur champion as the pair claimed that title in 2013 and 2014 respectively, was something of a surprise winner after not making a Challenge Tour cut all season.
“This result gets my season going because I didn’t have much up in terms of points – it was there but it just needed to be all put together and that’s what’s happened here,” he said.
