Twente is plenty for Stranraer as Dutch visitors spoil town’s 400th birthday party

Dutch side Twente Enschede showed their class as they defeated Stranraer 5-0 in the game to mark Stranraer’s 400th year as a Royal Burgh.

Dylan George cracked in the opener with Haris Vukic, Tom Lang’s own goal and Jari Ooserwijk’s double completing the scoring.

Faissal El Bakhtaoui and Randy Wolters struck late as Dundee won 2-1 at Arbroath after the hosts had led through Steven Doris’ penalty.

Despite injury time goals from Ryan Bowman and Andy Rose, Motherwell went down 3-2 to Gateshead.

Partick Thistle and Southend ended 0-0, Kilmarnock beat Livingston 1-0 after Neil Alexander inadverten­tly found the net with his head. Inverness lost 2-0 at Elgin, Brian Cameron and Jamie Reid scoring.

Morton defeated Turriff 6-1, Bob Mchugh hitting a treble.

Scott Miller pulled a goal back after Michael Tidser’s penalty and before Scott Tiffoney added the sixth.

Alloa and St Mirren finished goal less and albion rover sand Dumbarton drew 1-1 after Joao Victoria scored and ca lu mg all ag her levelled for the Sons.

Liam Buchanan opened the scoring in Raith Rovers’ 2-1 win at Clyde with Scott Ferguson’s own goal giving the Fife men the win after David Goodwillie’s penalty restored parity.

Paul Lawson’s spot-kick had Formartine ahead at Forfar, but Andy Munro made it 1-1.

Brechin won 2-0 at Montrose with an Ally Love double and Stenhousem­uir defeated Indian side Real Kashmir 6-0, helped by Mark Mcguigan’s hat-trick.

Peterhead’s Russell Mclean hit the winner in a 3-2 success at Fraserburg­h.

Queen’s Park and Cumbernaul­d Colts ended goalless, as did Berwick Rangers and Morpeth, with Stirling Albion defeating East Fife 4–1.
