Journalist charged with wife’s murder
A British journalist has been charged with murdering his wife in Dubai, the emirate’s government has announced.
Francis Matthew, editor-atlarge of Gulf News, was arrested after the death of Jane Matthew, 62, last week.
Preliminary investigations revealed she died from a blow to the head with a solid object, the Government of Dubai’s media office said.
The office said Matthew allegedly confessed to police that he hit his wife with a hammer after a fight, but said he did not mean to kill her.
