Whilst Fraser Grant and Gill Turner (Letters, 10 July) argue over who predicted the highest oil price prior to the 2014 referendum they miss the most salient point. The SNP based the economic future of our country on it. Lewis Finnie Larkfield Gardens Edinburgh
