Lerwick Harbour in multi-million pound expansion

A multi-million pound expansion of Lerwick Harbour has been official opened. The £16.5m expansion is expected to lead to further developments at the harbour.

An area of 1.5 hectares has been created for the fishing fleet and oil vessels.

The project also involved construction of an 804-m deepwater quay and the demolition of a jetty.

The quay is used by the fishing industry, offshore and cruise sectors.
