Police arrest man in park death inquiry

A man has been arrested and is being held in police custody in connection with the death of another man at a park in South Lanarkshire.

Jason Mccue, 43, was found seriously injured in John Hastie Park in Strathaven at 1:30pm on Tuesday. He was treated by paramedics at the scene but died of his injuries.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “A 50-yearold man has been arrested and is presently detained in police custody in connection with the death.

“A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
