Teenager appears in Mauritius court over murder of Scots woman
A teenager has appeared in a Mauritius court in connection with the murder of a British woman on the Indian Ocean island.
The body of Janice Farman, 47, was found at a property in Albion on the island at 1am on 7 July.
Ms Farman is originally thought to be from Clyde- bank in West Dunbartonshire. Police said the 18-yearold man from Quatre Bornes was arrested on Thursday.
It comes after an appearance by two 25-year-old men in court on Tuesday charged with her murder.
A spokesman for the Mauritius Police Force said the investigation was “progressing” and that the third suspect, Anish Sonnea, 18, was arrested on Thursday. Confirming the details, he said: “He appeared in court this morning and has been remanded until 21 July.
“The two other suspects have been remanded until 18 July.”
He added: “The investigation is progressing.”
Ms Farman was working as managing director for data capture firm PECS Data Services in Mauritius before she was murdered.
